When I first planned our Community Blessing of the Animals, I did so with great joy and hope that this beautiful ministry would be shared not only with our parishioners, but also with the wider Peachtree City community. In this spirit, I was assured that the Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department, as the venue host, would promote the event through The Slice email communication so the surrounding community would be informed well in advance.
Regrettably, that outreach did not take place as expected. Because our intention was to offer this blessing as a true community event—and not simply an internal parish gathering—I believe it is both wise and responsible to reschedule. Doing so will allow adequate time for proper promotion and ensure that this blessed opportunity can reach all those it was meant to serve.
I kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we move forward with this decision. Please know that this postponement is not due to any lack of effort within our parish. On the contrary, I am deeply grateful—and truly proud—of our exceptional committee of co‑workers at Saint Christopher Church. Kirk and Dedee Panayis, Helen Psihountas, Aimee Panos, Eleni Elling, and Presbytera Marinda have gone above and beyond, faithfully doing everything entrusted to them to ensure the success of this event.
Because the oversight rests with the venue’s promotional process, we remain fully committed to trying again. With God’s help, we will reschedule the Community Blessing of the Animals so that the greater community may fully witness, participate in, and be enriched by this sacred moment of thanksgiving for God’s creation.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding, your support, and your continued love for the ministries of our parish.
